The first Electric Light Orchestra and Jeff Lynne fan meeting.
(Chojnice, Poland : August 14th, 2005).

Chojnice is a beautiful city and very exciting for tourists in the north of Poland.

By the way ELO are very famous for the citizens of Chojnice.

We have to thank the councillor Jerzey Erdmann for organizing the first ELO and Jeff Lynne fan meeting in Poland.

At 3.00 pm the meeting started with about 20 ELO fans from Poland and Germany (including my wife and myself) in the music school. With coffee and cake (organized by Grazyna Erdman), we got to know each other and talked about the course of the day.

We got the possibility to visit the city Chojnice and visited the inside of a very old and beautiful church.

Then the highlight of the day started. The mayor of Chojnice, Mr. Edward Pietrzyk opened the musical part of the meeting in the beautiful amphitheatre.

The show started with Hazard, a group from Warsaw. This group performed songs from ELO for example “Xanadu” with Eva Brzezinska-Cielepa as soloist.

After the great beginning the show continued with the instrumental group of the musicschool from Chojnice. They performed three ELO songs, “Can´t get it out of my head”, “Strange Magic” and “Telephone Line” on violin, saxophone and the electric piano. The next appearance was the dance and choir group directed by Ryszard Stopa. He performed the songs “Confusion”, “So serious” and “Ticket to the moon”.

Between the different acts the audience had possibility to play games all around the topic “ELO”. The fans could improve their knowledge in a quiz or could participate in the karaoke competition.

A lot of people watched the concert “ZOOM” from ELO on a big TV-screen, and at the end of the concert, Dj MC Marco invited the audience to dance.

A wonderful day came to an end. It was a great adventure for each ELO fan.

Last but not least: Thanks to all the people who made this meeting real and we hope that will see us again next year, because Poland loves ELO!
