18/06/1998 - As of
today, because my new i.s.p. gives me 10Mb of webspace, I shall be expanding my site even
further with full track listings and sound clips. What I also intend doing is every week
(probably a Sunday), I will upload 1 track for you all to listen to. However what I
need is YOUR!!! requests - so please e-mail me which ELO , Move, Idle Race or other
ELO-related track you would like to hear and the most requested track of that week I will
upload to my site (assuming that I have the track requested). Please e-mail me at james.hoban@virgin.net . This first week, the
track is 'Drum Dreams' which was the b-side to the single 'I'm Alive' from Xanadu back in
1980.
13/06/1998 - I have
just obtained a rare UK Promotional cd of the live Australian concert from 1995. It is a
cut-down 17-track version of the concert released by CMC International Records.
Click here to view image and track listing.
28/05/1998 - I have
now decided to develop my website using IE4 only, so anybody using older versions of IE or
are using Netscape or other browsers may not be able to see all parts of the site as it is
meant to look. I'm sorry if this causes problems but it is becoming a pain to try and
write code to enable viewing in both IE4 and Netscape browsers (especially in Java).
27/05/1998 - For any
ELO fan wanting a copy of the rare U.S. promo cd single 'For The Love Of A Woman' by ELO
Part 2, go to Southland CD's site
http://www.southlandcd.com
, where they have a few copies left at only $12. OUT
OF STOCK July 1998.
24/05/1998 - Not much
to report on the ELO front this week , but I do have a record to recommend to ELO fans. As
myself and Rob Caiger of FTM have mentioned on the ELO mailing list, the track 'Remember'
on the latest cd single release by French group Air (the single is called Kelly Watch The
Stars on Virgin VSCDT1690) is so uncannily like classic ELO circa 1977/78 that you would
think it was an unreleased studio recording from this era. Highly recommended.
Click here to hear the song in full.
10/05/1998 - Still no
news on the release date of the Night The Light Went On cd from Sony, but cd zone here in
the UK have a release date of May 8th!! along with re-releases of most of the ELO
back-catalogue at mid-price.
10/05/1998 - I have
just received my copy of the Time After Time cd by ELO Part 2 - yet another release based
on the One Night Live In Australia release. However, this one differs in that it has been
mixed for Dolby Surround Sound systems - if you have one of these systems then you must
get this release, it sounds amazing - just a pity it is only a random selection of tracks
from the concert in Australia - if you want to get hold of this cd then look no further
than cd zone at http://www.cdzone.co.uk/ where it
only costs £1.95.
20/04/1998 - I have
now got almost all ELO and ELO Part 2 tracks in MP3 format - what a brilliant audio format
this is - the sound quality is superb. Note - for those of you who have not heard of MP3,
this is a new pc based sound format which enables cd quality sound to be played on your
computer.
19/04/1998 - I have
just received a few interesting ELO cd's from Russia - 2 compilation cd's, one called ELO
Singles Collection with a selection of 18 of their hits including Honest Men by Part 2 !!
and a bonus track - Jeff Lynne's 'Save Me Now'. The other cd is called Best Ballads and
has 17 tracks again including a couple from M.O.T. by Part 2 !!
10/04/1998 - I got my
copies of the 2 new ELO live cd's this morning. Both have been put together reasonably
well, the Live At Winterland cd coming in a blue sleeve with the traditional ELO badge
(like on the Light Years cd) emblazoned on the sleeve. The liner notes are nicely put
together and the recording itself is virtually complete (all the tracks that appear on the
bootleg Night The Light Went On Again cd plus extra few minutes of audience reaction, etc).
The Live At Wembley cd has a dark red sleeve again with a large ELO badge on the front
plus extensive liner notes about the Out Of The Blue era. The concert itself is exactly as
on the video release of the 1978 tour with introduction by Tony Curtis. The sound has has
been improved very well and overall, both cd's have been very well produced. Hopefully
these are the first in a series of Live ELO cd's from various stages of their career? I
will be putting full reviews with images onto my Reviews section in a few days time.
07/04/1998 - Great
News!! Sony UK is to release a remastered copy of the 1985 version of the live album
"The Night The Light Went On (In Long Beach)" on cd for the first time.
Rob Caiger has done the sleeve notes and the release date is expected to be mid to late
April.
06/04/1998 - Talk
about "milking it!", yet another edited version of the One Night cd has been
released here in the U.K. called 'Time After Time - Best of ELO Pt2 Live' - unsure of the
record label but the catalogue number is GFS108. CD Zone has this cd on sale for just
£1.95 plus postage and packing !! Their website is at
http://www.cdzone.co.uk/.
05/04/1998 -
Latest news on the two live cd's due out last week - according to Key Mail Order, they do
not expect the albums to be released until April 6th at the earliest and are
apparently on the Eagle label.
04/04/1998 - As you
have probably noticed I have changed the layout of the website slightly - I hope it's more
organised now ? Also, I have put a review of the "boot" Twilight cd on the
Reviews page.
30/03/1998 - I have
just received my copy of the E.L.O. - Twilight, Live in Cologne 1982 cd - a full review
and pictures will appear on my Reviews page in a couple of days time - my immediate
opinion on first hearing this cd is that the sound quality is excellent with virtually no
"hiss" on the sound but it is difficult to tell if it is in stereo or not. If
you want to order a copy of this cd then this cd and many others can be obtained at
http://www.bekkoame.or.jp/~beastone/BTAZ.html
E-mail - beastone@ppp.bekkoame.or.jp
.
22/03/1998 - Just 8
days to go until the live cd's are to be released !! To order your copies at an amazingly
low price here in the UK (postage outside UK is extra) look no further than Key Mail Order
at http://www.keymailorder.com - they have a
whole page with details about the 2 cd's.
20/03/1998 - Latest
news regarding the 2 NEW!! live cd's - according to the ELO mailing list, the Live At
Wembley cd is to be released on the UK Geffen label, and the Live At Winterland cd on the
UK PGD/Polygram label.

rare out-takes etc by many well known artists. I have ordered items from this company over
