"A great night was had by all at the Acoustic Cafe on 11th May when Kelly
gave another stunning performance. He even included a couple of newies, 'Fields
of Gold', and 'Memories Are Made Of This'. Again the loyalty of the ELO / Kelly
fans never ceases to amaze me, it's like our own version of Friends Reunited -
old friends chatting the night away. We even had a couple who travelled all the
way from Germany.
Kelly is back at the Cafe on Sunday 2nd November and we are really hoping
that many of you will again consider making the journey to Staffordshire. There
are a couple of things to bear in mind - if you are staying over night, Stuart
has a great deal with a local hotel, so if you need accommodation, talk to
Stuart first - call 01827 51400 and he will book you in to the hotel using his
discount.
Many people have expressed the desire to have food included like we normally do
on a Friday and Saturday, so for Kelly's next show we are including in the
ticket price one of stuarts legendary buffets (Tina's words, not mine). The

21/04/2003 - On Sunday,
11th May, former ELO and ELO II star KELLY GROUCUTT will be performing
his 50's & 60's concert.
"Revival Concert - Compered by Tina McBain
Times: Doors Open 7:30 pm ~ Concert Starts 8:15 pm
Tickets:£8 advance - A meal can be arranged by ringing Stuart on 01827 51400.
Former member of the Electric Light Orchestra and now front man with Orchestra,
Kelly Groucutt comes to town again with his wonderful solo show at the Lady
Meadow Restaurant. Kelly has one of the most distinctive voices in rock and
roll; remember ELO smashes, Rockaria and Hold on Tight To Your Dream? Kelly
Groucutt's Orchestra, last year completed a UK tour playing around the country
at major theatres.
Proprietor Stuart Lunn said `I am delighted that Kelly is returning to the
Acoustic Café. He is a world class artist and on his last appearance here just
before Christmas, old ELO fans from all over the country travelled to see the
show here in Tamworth. I am delighted to say that already it seems that out of
town folk are again showing interest. I hope that Tamworth people come along to
enjoy this fabulous show and would hate to think that we will sell out before
Tamworth residents have a chance to book tickets, but I must stress that they
will need to move quickly.
Kelly's solo show is a joy to see. He takes some of his favourite classics from
the 50's and 60's, songs by artists such as Buddy Holly, Johnny Ray, Del
Shannon, Elvis, along side some of his own material.'Kelly comes to us direct
from his US dates with Orchestra. The Kelly Groucutt show is two hours of magic
and nostalgia, and is sure to please everyone who enjoys good music at its best.
The Lady Meadow and the Acoustic Cafe now have a website:
www.ladymeadow.co.uk Stuart & Ian
would be delighted if Kelly, Phil, ERE fans left messages on the guestbook."
21/04/2003 - Most
fans may not have heard of him, but studio engineer Matt Sietz who works
at HarariVille in New Jersey, has
available on his website the remix he produced of 'Last Train To London'
featuring ELO Part 2 and Jose Feliciano. The story behind this mix
from Matt himself...............
"In 1999, Eric Troyer brought in the 'Last Train To London' remake to be
remixed and I was the assistant on the session, and if I remember correctly, Jim
Janssen was the mix engineer. The mix sounded great and everyone was excited
about the new version. Then, I pulled Eric aside and offered to do a dance remix
of the song, which was convenient since the 2" tape was still set up !! So, I
finished it, played it for Eric, which he liked and that was the last I heard of
it. I never knew if it had been released, although I figured if it was, I would
have known. That's pretty much it. It's a good sounding remix that I was always
proud of."
The remixed track can be downloaded from
www.mp3.com/sietzsounds .

11/02/2003 - Tina
McBain of the Eleanor Rigby Experience with the latest news..........
"TICKET DEMAND ALREADY AT FEVER PITCH FOR
ERAE AT TAMWORTH CASTLE.
On Saturday 6th September, a special concert is taking place at Tamworth's
historic castle, when Phil Bates, Tina McBain and Chloe Millar
present an Eleanor Rigby Acoustic Experience concert in the Great Hall of
the Saxon Castle. Tickets at £13.50 have not yet gone on sale to the general
public, but already over 30 of the 70 tickets have now been reserved.
Tina McBain said 'It looks like we could do a week there, but unfortunately, due
to the popularity of the castle, this is a one night only show. Both Phil and
myself were born in Tamworth so the Castle means a lot to us. When Phil recorded
A Little Light.... tickets sold in hours, and it looks like our show is going to
be the same.'
Phil and Tina this week have announced that Revolution String Quartet violinist
Chloe Millar is to join them on a permanent basis and a lot more new material is
on the cards, with magical twists which are becoming the trade mark of the band.
A lot more gigs are now in the pipeline for the Eleanor Rigby Acoustic
Experience.
Finally Tina said 'When Phil and I did our Christmas show, there were many ELO
II fans left disappointed, who had not pre-booked their tickets and had to be
turned away. I must stress that tickets must be got in advance for this Castle
gig.'
To book tickets, call Stuart Lunn at the Acoustic Cafe at the Lady Meadow on
(044) 01827 51400. Credit card bookings are accepted.
Tina"
09/02/2003 - Tina
McBain of the Eleanor Rigby Experience announces some very special
gigs..........
"On September 6th Phil Bates, Tina McBain and Chloe Millar
(CBSO), will be presenting a very special Eleanor Rigby Acoustic Experience
evening at Tamworth Castle. Many of you will know that Tamworth's historic
castle is very close to the heart of both Phil and Tina, who have previously
played the venue many times.
You will recall Phil actually recorded an album there entitles 'A Little Light
on an Electric Night'. That concert sold out within hours because the banqueting
hall of this wonderful little castle only has a capacity of 70. Phil and Tina
have decided to let all ELO / ERE fans know about this concert four clear days
before going on general sale.
The tickets will be priced at £13.50 and can be ordered from today by calling
Stuart Lunn at the Acoustic Cafe at the Lady Meadow on (044) 01827 51400. You
can pay by credit card.
It does not end there, the following day, Sunday 7th September - the Acoustic
Cafe will hope to be playing host to Kelly Groucutt - subject to his
diary. We are also inviting Dave Pritchard of the Idle Race to
perform an acoustic set at that gig - again subject to confirmation. Again, as
you all are aware, the capacity of the Acoustic Cafe is only 70. Again tickets
can be ordered from Stuart on the same number - they are priced at £10. DO NOT
BOOK YET FOR THIS SHOW, WE WILL GET CONFIRMATION FIRST, BY NEXT WEEKEND. As
always, at the Acoustic Cafe shows, compere for the evening will be Tina McBain
and I am sure we can persuade Phil to stop over for this show.
We are anticipating that many ELO / II / ERE fans will travel from all over the
country for this unique weekend. We can supply you with addresses of local B & B
accommodation if you need it, just email us at this address.
So don't hang about, get your tickets now.
Love Tina, Phil, & Chloe"
