21/12/1999 - Despite the uncertainty over ELO Part 2's future since Bev Bevan announced his departure, a number of gigs are now being organised for January 2000 in the U.S. The tour is being called ELO 2 World Tour 2000 and details of the gigs already taking bookings can be found on the main home page. Please note that all of the gigs are at present 'unconfirmed' - ie no official tour itinary has yet been announced by the band or their management yet.

A message from Eric Troyer

21/12/1999 - Because of the current uncertainty about the future of ELO Part 2, Eric Troyer issued the following statement on December 19th 1999... "To the Fans -  We apologize to the fans who are waiting for word of the future of this group of musicians, and we ask that you be patient. We are actively and currently working to resolve the uncertainty in our futures, and hope that we have your support in whatever we do. While your dedicated interest is at stake for yourselves, this is our livelihood, and the questions that are unresolved have a huge impact on our lives. Thus, we aren't going to settle for any uncertainty. I know this is vague, and it must be so, because of the current situation. Please bear with us. All the best, Eric".

12/12/1999 - Over the past few months, The ELO Network and Secret Messages websites along with Jorge Devincenzi and Jesus Rey have been busy compiling a very special 3cd set to trace the recording history of ELO from the early days of The Move and Idle Race up to ELO Part 2. The collection features many rare live tracks taken from live concerts, videos and radio shows from all over the world. We have called the collection 'Electric Light Orchestra - Family Tree'. Click here for more details.

05/12/1999 - Quite a few 'unofficial' releases have surfaced over the past few weeks including 2 excellent Traveling Wilbury 2cd sets. 'The Masters Collection' and 'The Legend Of The Traveling Wilburys Volume 1' feature many demos, out-takes and interviews with members of the band. Also the Jeff Lynne 'Rockline' interview from 25th June 1990 has appeared in perfect sound quality. This interview of course featured Jeff performing 2 tracks live on the show, 'It's Over' and 'Runaway'. E-mail me for further details or check out the track listings on the ELO Collection pages.

05/12/1999 - Bev is currently busy in the studio working with Brian May (Queen) and Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath). No details on tracks or future release yet.

05/12/1999 - A new release from Russia has just surfaced featuring ELO. Called 'The Golden Colllection 2000' it features 17 of the bands' songs. It is released on the Lighthouse label, Cat. number: ANT011153.

Bev Bevan leaves Part 2 !!!!

21/11/1999 - Further to last weeks news that Bev was quitting touring with ELO Part 2, this was the 'official' statement as read out by Parthenon Huxley on stage last Saturday night in Atlantic City.......'Ladies and gentlemen, music lovers, friends and fans of ELO and ELO PT II, we have an announcement to make. One among us in the band has always had it in mind that upon reaching a certain age he would stop being a member of ELO and "Move" on to other endeavors. With his birthday only 12 days away, that time has arrived and tonight will be his final show. We, the remaining members of the band will continue to tour and record without interruption. But for now, will you please rise and pay tribute to his 48 (38) year legacy... The backbeat of the band... the one, the only... Mr. Bev Bevan...". Thanks to Susan Murphy, who was at the show, for the info.

20/11/1999 - The Traveling Wilburys-dedicated website 'End Of The Line' has been forced to close down by lawyers representing the Wilburys. Check out the site for more details - http://qlink.queensu.ca/~6djm/Wilburys/main.htm .

During his Los Angeles visit, McCartney and his band performed a spirited mini-concert at a benefit for PETA. They also recorded a version of Buddy Holly's "Maybe Baby" at the Capitol Records studios, with former ELO leader Jeff Lynne producing. It will be the title track to a film of the same name by English comic turned director Ben Elton, a McCartney friend.' (c)1999 San Diego Union -Tribune.
